JOB TITLE: Radiologic Technologist

FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt

DIVISION: Radiology

RATE: $24.00 - $34.96 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The radiologic technologist is responsible for taking diagnostic x-rays and performing CT studies of ER patients, Clinic, outpatients and inpatients.​

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Obtaining correct position and projections of the body part in question.

2. Applying appropriate technical factors to obtain optimal density according

to the body part; conversion of technical factors from bucky to nonbucky.

3. Completion and distribution of paperwork, daily logs patient tracking cards.

4. Entering patient information correctly, and completing by submission to the radiologist for

interpretation.

5. Protection of patients and anyone in surrounding areas from unnecessary radiation exposure.

6. EKG’s and inclusive paperwork.

7. Utilization of radiation protection fundamentals; time distance and shielding.

8. Available for “On Call” coverage for x-ray, EKG’s and CT.

9. Demonstrate a positive attitude of customer service.

10. Other tasks as requested by supervisor for safe care and smooth operation of department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Current ARRT Certification is required. State licensure is preferred. Must have acceptable KBI record check.

SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write and follow written direction; must demonstrate effective communication skills; must demonstrate proper radiology procedures and skills required of a radiologic technologist.​

 

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

Computer, telephone, fax machine, Gendex x-ray equipment, portable x-ray machine, Konica Minolta computed Radiology Processor , EKG Machine, CT Equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Lifting up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds; some bending and stooping; repetitious arm motion; assisting patients with movements (including to and from wheelchairs and carts); job may require being on feet for 8 hour shift with breaks and meal time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee works in an environment with biological, chemical and mechanical hazards. The employer will provide appropriate training, protective equipment and engineering controls for the protection and safety of the employee. As a condition of the employment the employee is required to abide by all risk management regulations including the proper use of protective devices and procedures.
