
JOB TITLE: Transportation Driver

RATE: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Generally
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs under the direction of the Senior Living Center Director of Nursing. The Transportation Driver will perform transportation duties and assist in the Senior Living Center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Primary duty is transportation. This entails resident and hospital patient appointments, pick up/drop off to and from hospitals.
• Must be flexible with hours as appointments can be early (before start time) or return to facility from appointments may be late (past end time).
• Must be comfortable driving in large cities.
• Must be comfortable driving a small passenger van and/or bus.
• When not performing duties as a transportation driver, secondary duties will be working in the Senior Living Center.
• Must be dependable.
• Must be reliable.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have valid Driver's License
Must have valid CNA certification
Must have valid CPR certification

• Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and follow verbal and written direction.
• Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with patients, patient’s family members and facility staff.
• Must possess computer skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish specific job duties and assignments.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Transportation-related devices, CNA equipment.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/ MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must speak clearly; repetitive motion using wrists, hands and/or fingers; average hearing and vision; must be able to use good body mechanics to: lift up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally; to maneuver various equipment (weight 150 to 175#); be able to reach, turn, and/or bend as necessary to perform duties; to think clearly and manage a large amount of information quickly, prioritizing and handling patient, resident and/or staff concerns in order of importance; reasoning ability; mathematics ability; language ability for large quantity of reading, report preparation and communication; variable paced environment, with stimuli from several directions, and must have ability to triage and manage all information effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee works in an environment with biological, chemical and mechanical hazards. The employer will provide appropriate training, protective equipment and engineering controls for the protection and safety of the employee. As a condition of the employment the employee is required to abide by all risk management regulations including the proper use of protective devices and procedures.​
