JOB TITLE: Weekend Warrior Radiologic Technologist

FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt

DIVISION: Radiology

RATE: $35.00 per hour

Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Weekend Warrior Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic x-rays and CT studies for ER, clinic, outpatient, and inpatient settings. Weekend shifts will include Clinic duties as needed. Monday shifts will include all assigned Clinic Nurse duties.​

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Obtain accurate positioning and projection of the body part in question.

2. Apply appropriate technical factors to achieve optimal imaging quality; adjust techniques for bucky and non-bucky exposures.

​

3. Complete and distribute all relevant documentation, including daily logs and patient tracking cards.

​

4. Correctly enter patient information and ensure timely submission to the radiologist for interpretation.

​

5. Ensure protection of patients and nearby individuals from unnecessary radiation exposure.

​

6. Perform EKGs and complete associated paperwork.

​

7. Follow principles of radiation safety including time, distance, and shielding.

​

8. Be available and responsive for on-call coverage as needed during scheduled days.

​

9. Carry out clinic responsibilities as assigned, including basic patient care and support of providers during exams and procedures.

​

10. On Monday shifts, perform duties as the designated Clinic Nurse, including patient triage, vitals, documentation, and communication with providers.

​

11. Demonstrate a professional, customer-service-oriented attitude at all times.

​

12. Carry out additional tasks as directed by the supervisor to ensure safe and efficient department operations.

​​

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Current ARRT Certification is required. State licensure is preferred. Must have acceptable KBI record check.

SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write and follow written direction; must demonstrate effective communication skills; must demonstrate proper radiology procedures and skills required of a radiologic technologist.​

 

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

Computer, telephone, fax machine, Gendex x-ray equipment, portable x-ray machine, Konica Minolta computed Radiology Processor , EKG Machine, CT Equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Lifting up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds; some bending and stooping; repetitious arm motion; assisting patients with movements (including to and from wheelchairs and carts); job may require being on feet for 8 hour shift with breaks and meal time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee works in an environment with biological, chemical and mechanical hazards. The employer will provide appropriate training, protective equipment and engineering controls for the protection and safety of the employee. As a condition of the employment the employee is required to abide by all risk management regulations including the proper use of protective devices and procedures.
