JOB TITLE: Maintenance Tech
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
DIVISION: Maintenance
RATE: $18 - $25.21 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Is responsible for working with the Maintenance Manager in maintaining upkeep of property, buildings and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Routinely inspect equipment and buildings with constant alertness to needed repairs and replacement and report findings to Maintenance Manager and/or CEO.
2. Operate hand tools and equipment/machinery as needed.
3. Make minor repairs on equipment, plumbing and electrical.
4. Perform carpentry, painting, general upkeep as needed in compliance with building and safety codes.
5. Perform grounds upkeep duties as needed.
6. Perform maintenance duties at the Jefferson Village as needed.
7. Demonstrate positive attitude of customer service.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school education with one year of general experience in maintenance work; valid driver’s license. Must have acceptable KBI record check.
SKILLS:
Mechanical aptitude; ability to operate mechanical tools; knowledge of carpentry; painting; simple plumbing procedures. Ability to prioritize work based on immediate needs.​
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Power tools such as drills, saws, sanders, etc.; mowers, trimmers, chain saws, motors, ladders, lifts, plumbing snakes

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/ MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift 50-100# occasionally. Must be available to be on call during off duty hours, occasionally just deal with water leaks, sewage problems, all manner of disaster issues. Must be able to maintain calm demeanor in face of adversity.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee works in an environment with biological, chemical and mechanical hazards. The employer will provide appropriate training, protective equipment and engineering controls for the protection and safety of the employee. As a condition of employment the employee is required to abide by all risk management regulations including the proper use of protective devices and procedures.
